Creating An Account

Some donors believe that having a recurring transaction infers having login credentials in the Online Management System (OMS). However, the donor must create an account (set up a password) before he may use the OMS to access the payment details of his recurring transaction.

Effective April 2020 the donor has the option of creating login credentials at the time the original recurring donation is made.

To create an account:

  • Go to
  • Click on "Manage a recurring donation." (Figure 1)
  • If this is the donor's first visit to the OMS or did not set up login credentials at the time of the original donation, he will click the "Set Up Your Login" link. (Figure 2)
  • While creating login credentials, the donor will be asked to establish a permanent password.
  • If the donor already has login credentials, but has forgotten his password, he may use the Forgot Password link and a password reset link will be emailed to the address in the record.
  • To see whether the donor already has login credentials, follow the directions below.

Once logged in, the donor may change/update his credit card number or expiration date, increase/decrease the contribution amount, update his mailing or email address, or stop his recurring contribution. He may also retrieve a transaction history and print a transaction summary for tax purposes. (If the donor has transactions older than May 2016, please contact GiveDirect support for a transaction history.)

If the donor has more than one recurring transaction associated with the same email address, the accounts should be automatically "linked" so the donor may access all of his transactions using the same log in credentials. If not, either the donor or the charity may call/email GiveDirect Customer Service and we will be happy to link those accounts.

To see whether a donor already has login credentials,

  • Go to Recurring Transactions in your control panel
  • Enter the donor's name in the search fields on the left
  • Ensure that there are no dates in the date range fields
  • Click Search
  • Click on the transaction ID to get into the detail page
  • At the bottom of the detail page is a section titled "Online Management System." If the donor has login credentials you can see the login name here, otherwise you will see a statement indicating there are no login credentials on file.
