Manage Transactions
Update transactions
For the most part when we talk about updating a transaction we're talking about updating donor contact information. But within the donation detail page you may also:
- edit a gift dedication,
- correct or add a comment,
- update payment information (in recurring payments only),
- change the gift designation (in recurring payments only)
- refund a payment
- monitor for fraudulent transactions, or
- monitor for declined transactions and contact the donor as necessary
Important: You may update or change most details in a transaction, but first determine whether it is a one-time transaction or a recurring payment.
To update a one-time donation:
- Go to Transaction Reports.
- Find the transaction using the search fields on the left or the one-click drop down list.
- Click the transaction ID to open the detail page.
- Complete your updates and click "Save Changes".
- The amount of a one-time donation is not editable. If a refund is required, use the refund link in the summary page.
To update a recurring payment:
- Go to Recurring Payments.
- Find the transaction using the search fields on the left or the one-click drop down list.
- Click the transaction ID to open the detail page.
- Change the frequency or cancel the transaction using the "recurs" drop down menu.
- Change the donation amount and/or the fee cover amount.
- Complete your updates and click "Save Changes".
- Changes to a recurring payment record will only affect future transactions, not historical data.
